Our Privacy Commitment

Nuviame is designed for meaningful, private reflection. Your considerations are deeply personal, and we treat them with the respect they deserve. Your thoughts stay yours - always.

No Account Required

Nuviame does not require you to create an account. There is no sign-up, no email collection, no user registration. You simply download the app and start using it. We do not collect or store any personal information about you on our servers.

What We Store

All your data is stored locally on your device: your written entries, voice recordings, photos, labels, keywords, and AI-generated summaries. We cannot access, read, or transmit any of your personal content. Your data never leaves your device unless you are signed into iCloud (which enables automatic sync across your Apple devices) or you use cloud AI features with your own API key.

AI Features - Your Choice

Nuviame offers multiple AI processing options. You control where your data is processed:

  • On-Device AI (Qwen MLX): A local AI model runs entirely on your device with zero network transmission. Requires 6GB+ RAM: iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 14/14 Plus or newer, iPhone 15/16 series. Not available on older devices.
  • Apple Intelligence (iOS 26.0+): On supported devices with Apple Silicon, Apple's on-device AI processes your text locally without sending data to external servers.
  • Cloud AI with Your Own API Key: You can provide your own OpenAI or Google Gemini API key. Your text is sent directly to these services using your credentials. Your API keys are stored securely in iOS Keychain on your device - we never see them.

If your device doesn't support on-device AI, you can use cloud AI with your own API key, or use the app without AI features.

On-Device AI (Most Private)

Qwen MLX on-device AI requires iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max or newer, iPhone 14/14 Plus or newer, or iPhone 15/16 series (devices with 6GB+ RAM). Apple Intelligence requires iOS 26.0+ on supported Apple Silicon devices. When you use on-device AI, your text is processed entirely on your iPhone or iPad with no data sent to any external server.

Cloud AI with Your Own API Key

If you choose to use cloud AI by providing your own OpenAI or Google Gemini API key, your text is sent directly to those services using your credentials. We do not see, store, or have access to your API keys or your requests - everything goes directly from your device to the AI provider. You are responsible for any API costs. Advertising (Free Users)

Free users see advertisements powered by Google AdMob. To show ads, AdMob may collect device information including: advertising identifier (IDFA), device type and model, operating system version, and general location derived from IP address. You can control ad personalization through iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. If you deny tracking, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized. Premium subscribers do not see advertisements.

App Tracking Transparency

On iOS 14.5 and later, we request your permission before allowing AdMob to track your activity across other apps for advertising purposes. You can change this setting at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Denying tracking does not affect app functionality.

Premium Subscription

Premium subscription removes advertisements. Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. We do not collect any payment information, email addresses, or personal data for Premium subscribers. Apple handles all billing. The only difference between free and Premium is the presence of ads.

iCloud Sync

If you are signed into iCloud on your device, your Nuviame data automatically syncs across your Apple devices (iPhone, iPad) using Apple's CloudKit service. This happens seamlessly in the background. Your synced data is stored in your personal iCloud account - only you can access it through your Apple ID. We cannot access your synced data. To disable iCloud sync for Nuviame, go to iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Apps Using iCloud and turn off Nuviame.

Voice Recording and Transcription

When you record a voice entry, the audio is stored locally on your device. If you choose to transcribe recordings, we use Apple's Speech Recognition service. Depending on your iOS settings, transcription may be processed on-device or sent to Apple's servers (per Apple's privacy policy). We do not have access to your recordings or transcriptions.

Data Security

Your data can be protected with Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode. All local data is encrypted using iOS filesystem encryption. API keys (if you provide your own) are stored in iOS Keychain. Network communications use TLS encryption.

What We Know About You

Nothing. We do not have servers that store user data. We do not collect emails, names, or any identifying information. We do not track how you use the app. Your content stays on your device. The only external data collection is by Google AdMob for advertising (free users only), and you can opt out of personalized ads.

Third-Party Services

Nuviame integrates with the following services:

  • Google AdMob: Advertising for free users. May collect device identifiers. Privacy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Apple Services: iCloud/CloudKit (automatic sync when signed into iCloud), StoreKit (purchases), Speech Recognition (transcription). Apple's privacy policy applies.
  • OpenAI: Cloud AI (optional, with your own API key). Privacy: openai.com/privacy
  • Google Gemini: Cloud AI (optional, with your own API key). Privacy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Hugging Face: Source for downloading the on-device AI model. Only model files are downloaded; no personal data is sent.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AI summaries are optional. By using AI features, you acknowledge that AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies, and is for reflection purposes only. AI summaries are not professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for medical, legal, financial, or other important decisions.

Data Subject Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing to request access to or delete from our systems. Your data is on your device - you have complete control. You can view, edit, export, or delete all your data within the app. For advertising data, you can opt out of personalized ads via iOS Settings and review Google's data practices.

Children's Privacy

Nuviame is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect information from children. The 'Child' profile type is for parents to track information about their children, not for children to use.

Data Retention

Your data stays on your device until you delete it. If you use iCloud sync, data is retained in your iCloud account until you delete it. We do not retain any user data because we do not collect any. AdMob may retain advertising data per Google's policies.

International Data Transfers

If you use cloud AI with your own API key, your text is sent to the AI provider's servers which may be outside your country. For on-device AI, no data transfer occurs. AdMob may process data internationally per Google's practices.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the 'Last updated' date at the top. Your continued use of Nuviame after changes constitutes acceptance.
